Kopacka

I went to Serbia once.  We stayed mostly in Belgrade, but also went to Novi Sad and Frushka Gora.  We rented a car in Belgrade, a trusty Dacia Logan, Romanian made.  It got something like 75 miles a gallon. We took that car a few hundred miles all over Europe.

Serbian music remains, to me, a total mystery.  I've heard very, very little.  This tune had immediate appeal because of it's time signature (11/8), and its modality.  The version I heard also had a couple of bridges in the middle, where it switched keys and the lead musician took a solo.  I just learned and recorded the main theme of the tune, which has 3 parts.
